Artist Bio
A looser style brush stroke and NOT a typical Cortes Parisian street scene, this small painting is of a humble industrial site, a tannery in Lagny, Edouard Leon Cortes' hometown.
Unlike his more familiar Paris street scenes that tend to idealize the City of Lights as this gloriously lit and halcyon place, this painting gives the impression of a dirty industrial site replete with dark smoke belching forth from a tall smokestack.
