Artist Bio
Very Little is known of Caroleen Ackerman Brown, nee Caroleen Ackerman. It is believed that she was born in 1871 and it is known that she passed away in 1938.
She was a member Brooklyn Students Art League.
Provenance
Very little can be found about this talented, enigmatic (woman) painter of The Hudson River School.
Housed in an original W.K. O'Brian & Bro.s exhibition quality frame, it can only be surmised that this person was serious about their efforts.
The canvas exhibits a palette of deep, rich tones, with a very dimensional brushstroke.
The painting is both moody and uplifting.
I wish there were more examples of her work known; she is plainly a talent.
